Our kids raised $5000 for Heifer Project International!
We joined other More Light Presbyterians at the Houston Pride Parade. Fun way to support our GLBT brothers and sisters!

Outreach and social justice are very important to us as a congregation.
Heifer Project International
Our children's Sunday school project took the challenge to raise $5000 to purchase an "Ark" of animals that will go to needy communities all over the world.
Lord of the Streets
For several years the congregation has prepared hygiene kits for the Lord of the Streets Episcopal Church in Midtown Houston. That church serves the homeless population with clothing, worship and Bible study, classes, food, and the hygiene kits that we supply them with. The kits are prepared four times a year and include items such as soap, toothpaste, toothbrush, deodorant, etc.
Christmas Food baskets for the needy
We began in 1987, prompted by stories in the media of local groups refusing to serve people with AIDS. Our response was to exclusively serve this ostracized community. More than 20 years later, we serve 72 families and individuals enough food for about two weeks. This year we had a unique opportunity to serve those hardest hit by Hurricane Ike and will be working with other area churches to intensify our efforts.
Seaman's boxes
Each year in November we put together 20 Seamen's boxes for the Port of Houston
We serve and sell Equal Exchange coffe, tea and chocolate products.
We are officially a More Light Presbyterian Church. We as a congregation believe that members of the GLBT community should be allowed to partipate fully in the Presbyterian Church USA
Urban Harvest/Bayou City Farmer's Market
In an effort to promote good health and a healthy environment through locally grown food, we have begun selling some of our produce at the Bayou City Farmer's Market Saturdays from 8am-12pm
